On the following pages you will find a directory of organizations (international and East Timorese) working significantly in the area of gender in Timor-Leste that have registered information with this site. We have developed this resource in response to feedback about difficulties faced by organizations, in particular a basic 'information gap' (both within Timor-Leste and beyond) about what activities NGOs, community groups and other institutions are undertaking in relation to gender.
Many of the organizations included on these pages have been profiled by Globalism Institute researchers Anna Trembath and Damian Grenfell in the bilingual report, Mapping the Pursuit of Gender Equality in Timor-Leste: Non-Government and International Agency Activity in Timor-Leste, 2007 (English and Tetun), with support from Irish Aid and the Office for the Promotion of Equality, Timor-Leste.
If your organization is not profiled and you would like it listed please contact damian.grenfell@rmit.edu.au with organizational information. We ask that you use the following questions as a guide.
1. What is the name of your organization? Where is your organization based?
2. Details of gender based project/s within Timor Leste that your organization is involved in? (ie what work/programs/policies/support does your organization undertake in regards to gender in Timor-Leste?)
3. Do you collaborate with any other organizations on your work on gender in Timor-Leste? If so, who and how?
4. Contact details for your organization (people, PH, email, website, address, FAX)
We would encourage the information to be translated into both Tetun and English where possible.
