This database is designed to provide massive electronic storage of interpretative overviews, documents, photographs and audio files, and will be made available through the web for all the participants of all the projects conducted within and in collaboration with the Globalism Institute.
It is an open-source community-driven database and all public material submitted is accessible to communities and researchers. We will continue to post information directly onto websites where significant and timely. However as this is not either sustainable nor easily searchable, as a publicly usable database we hope this will provide a rich community resource over the longer-term.

Guests:
Unregistered users may access the database through the Guest Access. Entry as a Guest allows the user to only conduct searches of the available material. Guests cannot upload or download files from the database.
Registered Users:
Only Registered Users may submit or download material to the database.
To become a registered user please select 'Register an Account'. Fill in the information required and you will be emailed your User ID and Password. Thereafter, registered users need to enter their User ID and Password before selecting 'Connect' to log on to the database.
Submission of Materials:
To submit material to the database users will need:
1) to be associated with a Globalism Institute Project or be a community member who works or researchers in one the areas as listed under our Themes, and
2) to be a registered user of the database.
To submit research materials, such as photos, essays, field notes, reports, transcripts and articles, please follow the following three steps:
Step 1: please click on 'Submit File' in the top-left of the database screen.
Step 2: please choose a category type for the file (known as assets) you wish to upload, such as 'Creative Expression', 'Documentary', 'Interview', 'Map','Moving Images' and so forth.
Step 3: Under 'Enter Asset Information', fill in the details for each file under 'Caption', 'Description', 'Author' and 'Keywords' and so forth. Once completed, click on 'Submit Files' at the bottom of the page.
Please note that submitted files will not appear on the database until the content of the material has been approved by a Research Site Manager. This is simply a 'safety mechanism' to avoid materials in our database being corrupted by viruses or inappropriate material being loaded to the database.
Please see the Global-Local Database page for full information about using this database, or contact Dr Kate Cregan, Database Manager (kate.cregan@rmit.edu.au), with any queries.
