Our research is interested in the transition to nationhood in Timor-Leste, from the transition as a Portuguese colony to an Indonesian-occupied territory, and through to the independent republic that Timor-Leste is today. In particular, our research projects tend to focus on the intersecting themes of Gender, Conflict and Peace, Nation Building and Community in the independence era.
